BookyWooky personalised board book- Review

When Ross from the the Stented papa got in touch about a new family business that he had launched with his wife Mel and I saw that it involved me finally doing something a little different with the tons of photos I have on my many devices, I jumped at their kind offer of creating my own BookyWooky board book. Here they are with their two gorgeous little girls, their inspiration to create a book that the whole family could create and get enjoyment from, no matter what age .

What is Bookywooky

It is a 100% personalised board book creator site, you can create your own book entirely on your own from cover to cover or use one of the many  templates on the site. The books are made out of high quality, durable paper board, made right here in Ireland. Our own book has withstood our four-year old twins reading it back and forth between them, so I am sure if it has survived our twinados it will survive a younger child gnawing at the edges with its rounded corners and teething survival materials.

What I love about this book is the fact that whilst I choose on this occasion to create a book for the twins about their Daddy and all the fun things they have done in the last year together, there are so many ways in which I can see this type of board-book working. For babies and  younger children it would be a lovely way to introduce them to your family, or remembering those no longer with us in a special book on your bookshelf.  It would be a really cool way to store  your toddlers art work masterpieces that they bring home from creche because you can load drawings your children have created directly onto their own art board-book. How fab would it be to get the kids to illustrate and then write your own story book start to finish and receive it in the post a little while later.  There are lots of ideas and templates on the site to choose from abc’s to capturing their baby pictures as they grow up over the years.

Your families imagination is the only limit to how you create your own special story.

The process and quality of the book

The site says it’s as simple as three easy steps, choose your template, load your pictures and order. In my case I choose designing from scratch, which meant choosing the layouts, number of pictures on each page, page design, colour and border designs. Even at that the only real lengthy process was deciding on my own part what photos to use. Some of my pictures were not the greatest quality and I accepted they might be blurry when it came to print but to my pleasant surprise the quality of the book even on the poorer images is brilliant. By comparison I’ve printed some of the same pictures in shop kiosks and they haven’t come out as well as the book so the quality of the overall product is really really good.

Overall it’s a big thumbs up from the Kenny family for our first Bookywooky and I cannot wait to expand our bookshelves with lots more special Once upon a time stories personal to us and the twins. The only problem I can foresee is the kids fighting over the colour schemes such is their preferences of purple and blue so we probably will do a story for each.
