Sale season is upon us and most of us have just finished the first week back at work after the Christmas holidays. This leaves little time to think of anything other than sheer panic at the year looming ahead of us. Which is why alot of impulse buying is done come sale time.
For me I use the sales as an opportunity when I have the time to buy for the next age group up for the kids and to buy staples for myself, such as shoes, handbags and coats and avoid throwing things into the basket which I will never wear.
With that in mind I always watch the Mothercare sale as I have always been impressed with the quality of their clothes, right from when the twins arrived up to now, three and a half! I did buy alot of the next age group in the mid season sale last year so I did restrict myself to a few buys this time around but as always am delighted with the prices and the quality of my choices.
First up is this checkered shirt layered over a long sleeved navy top, meaning two outfits in one ! I love the brightness of the shirt and can see it worn over the Summer with sleeves rolled up and later in the year over wine chinos. This blue jumper and grey hoodie also came as a set and is perfect attire for little boys to look nice yet are comfortable at school and outdoors. As is the grey Explorer jumper a great buy for busy boys!
In Tesco they currently have a 3 for two on certain boys and girls clothing. Each of these boys tops were under seven euro so you are getting good value for money there and nice functional and cute printed clothing at the same time. This checkered shacket caught my eye also in-store, it is lighter but still cosy so could be paired with a top underneath now and on its own coming into Spring. And as always I am a sucker for a grandad shirt and this lovely top came home from Tesco too.
Staying in Tesco for girls, here are some of the picks from their three for two range. They have lots of lovely tunics, dresses, top and leggings combinations on offer currently.
I managed to pick up a few next size sales bits which I will hold for next Christmas or a party later in the year. This pink sparkly dress was down to seven euro and the grey velvet dress is a little beauty and under ten euro! The cloud pocket cardigan is new stock but only eleven euro for aged 4/5 and ten euro aged 3/4 and is a nice transitional cardigan for Spring/Summer for little girls with the warmer weather.
Back to Mothercare for girls and this floral dress comes with lovely chunky grey tights which I will pair with calf length boots and a gillet next Autumn and as herself gets taller I will pair it over leggings when she outgrows the dress length. I also loved this white floral print casual dress, a perfect dress for running around in. And as always I adore the Mylene Klass range in Mothercare and picked up this dotty top which I will pair over these mouse knee jeggings I also got in the sale there.
For Mammy, back to work, boo! These brown patent shoes helped make it a little easier to bear, from Penneys they are a little higher than their last release of these shoes but stil comfortable enough and I love this colour as it generally matches with most colours.
As I mentioned earlier I try not to impulse buy in the sales and limit myself to key items such as handbags, purses, coats, shoes and the odd dress if I have been lusting after something for a long time and it is reasonable in the sale, or an occasion dress if I have an event coming up. I was very good this January and have only a few items winging their way to me. These are a few pieces I saw tonight online on River Island and Zara, both are still in stock in average sizes as I was posting this blog.
This brown bag is down under thirty euro , this colour is one of my favourites in a handbag and generally looks well with most outfits.
I have seen both these dresses on in real life and again buth are under thirty euro online right now and would be lovely for a party/event later in the year.
River Island over the knee boots at a steal , these block heel will give you comfort and I love these paired under tea dresses or over skinny jeans.
My picks from the Zara sale today ,still in stock online are the following
This coat is only 29euro , I tried on a red version earlier in the year and it is a beautiful cut and will be lovely come Spring time for office wear or paired over jeans/leathers.
This suede coat is down to 29euro aswell on Zara online.
And this pink ,fur hood park is down to 39euro.
As you know I love my Zara leather/pleather jackets and most are down to 20euro/25euro currently online. This waterfall one is perfect for coming into the lighter weather and just under twenty euro! And this floral dress comes in at eighteen euro, you can pair it with black tights and the leather jacket for now and when it begins to warm with bare legs and sandals or the knee highs from River Island for a sexier look.
I love this denim dress aswell which is down to eighteen euro. I would tie a thin brown belt around it to cinch in at the waist with a pair of brown ankle boots.
And lastly you will know I have featured this dress as one of my picks for Christmas but as it is down to only twenty euro it had to make it into the basket and was my one impulse buy!
So Happy shopping and don’t lose the run of yourself , remember another sale is only around the corner these days. Also always buy online only if you see a padlock on the left hand side of the web bar address to ensure you are buying from a reputable site.
Happy Friday everyone:)
Ooooh that tan handbag is gorgeous! I’m such a sucker for that colour, I just feel they go with everything especially in spring/summer!
